The precious fruit from Hokkaido area in Japan, Haskap✨
That tastes like plum and blueberry🎵
It was said as a secret elixir of perpetual youth and longevity in olden times🌈
The confectionary using Haskap is my recent fav for my tea time😋
Prince William is visiting Japan for the first time at the moment!! 🙂
Somehow it tends to be cold and rainy last 3days and Prince William made a joke “Sorry I brought bad weather from England” and made the atmosphere around him brighter like a sunny day 😀
He is wonderful and very sophisticated indeed!
Well I actually saw him on the day of his royal wedding 4 years ago!
It happened when I was living in London 🙂
I was so lucky! I wrote that blog of royal wedding long time ago as well. To see the BLOG, click here.
A little bit bitter smile because of bitter Matcha. haha
With the governor of Tokyo, Mr. Masuzoe.
Enjoying Japanese confectionary (Wa-gashi) which we eat with Matcha or Green tea.
My lovely GM visits me at least once a month from Kamakura by car!
I had some business calls this morning so I could not prepare any cakes or cookies..
I did not want to let her down so I baked scorns very quickly and furiously!
There was no clotted cream so we just put butter or maple syrup, strawberry and blue berry jam on warm and fresh scorns 😉
A good chef and a patissier made samples based on my sketch!
This is unbelievable and this is “Thought becomes reality” Everything was in my head first and then on the paper.
And it became things now 🙂
Feeling very strange in good way!
This samples are for the Shinjuku branch!
Cakes are so cute 🙂
Wow they folded the napkin like rose same as the sketch!
Soft and moist scorns!
Sandwiches should be pretty as well!
Looks like it is happening in the wonderland!
(These cakes are for Aoyama branch.)
From now, I will brush up everything!
I am looking forward to the completed menu 🙂
I’m feeling a bit guilty because I actually have most of F&M’s tea blends at home but I sometimes come here to drink tea that costs over 1,000yen(about 10USD) per mini pot..
But it’s ok right? We enjoyed these tasty cakes!haha
Somehow I always want to go to China Town in Yokohama especially around new year.
Just going there (only about 30mins from Tokyo)
makes me feel like I takes a short trip!
So Today’s poposes are…
eating delicious rice-poridge @ Anki,
eating Chinese dumpling on the street,
having a fortuneteller tell about this year,
and having a lovely tea time at Chinese Tea salon.
That was quite clear to do!
It’s a bit difficult to find this restaurant, Anki, because it’s not on the main street but the back street.
When I first came here, I was a uni student. My professor brought me here recommending this rice porridge!
The rice porridge here is really delicious!
Usually Chinese dumpling (Sho-ron-pou) is not backed.
But one side of this dumpling is backed so I tried it.
I think I like the usual one. lol
Shop’s name is “Goku-chasou”.
They sell tea leaves and cups on the 1st floor and the cafe space on the 2nd.
Woody interior makd me relaxed.
I ordered one of blue tea, Arisan, and a sesame pudding.
I chose to blew my tea using Gaiwan cup.
Gaiwan is this.
Not only we can blew tea in this like a pot, but also we can drink tea from it.
Put tea leaves in Gaiwan
Pour hot water and keep the lid on
Slide the lid a little bit, hold it and pour tea to a Chakai next to it
And from the Chakai, pour tea to the tall cup of Monko-hai
From it, move tea to lower cup next to it
Take the tall empty cup to your nose and enjoy the aroma
Then you can taste it from the lower one
This is the way you can enjoy Chinese blue tea.
I’m totally feeling like this year would be great for me!
